HarborPark Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Festival

Dear Friend and Supporter,

On Saturday, August 17, 2024, the HarborPark Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Music Festival will return to Kenosha's scenic shores of Lake Michigan.

If you're unfamiliar with our organization and mission, allow me to share the profound impact we've had. The Mary Lou and Arthur F. Mahone Fund, a testament to the legacy of two remarkable humanitarians, is dedicated to fostering educational and career opportunities for students in need. This year, our Career Exploration Organization (CEO) mentoring program has awarded 24 college scholarships to deserving Kenosha area high school students, a feat made possible by the generosity and support of partners like you!

We're thrilled to bring back the unique elements that make our festival special: our silent auction, raffle, and wine pull. Your support in the form of curated experiences, money, gift cards, or other items for the auction, raffle, and wine pull will play a crucial role in making this year's festival a resounding success.

We're seeking products, services, lodging accommodations, and specialty items for the silent auction and raffle. For the wine pull, we aim to collect 75 - 100 bottles of wine, with a minimum value of ~$10 each. Your donations will create a lively and interactive fundraising atmosphere for our music fans to enjoy.

For your convenience, you can register your auction or wine pull donations by clicking the button below.

With nearly 2,000 attendees from the Midwest, your donations and support are incredibly meaningful to us. To show our appreciation, we want to display your business information in the program booklet near the items you donate. Please send us your business cards and/or brochures with your donation by Friday, August 9, 2024, at Mahone Fund c/o Kenosha Emerging Leaders Academy at 2222 63rd Street, Kenosha, WI 53143. Call Atifa Robinson at 262-898-5602 to confirm your delivery time.

We hope to have your support. Thank you for your consideration and best wishes from all of us at the Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund. If you have questions regarding the silent auction, wine pull, or raffle items, please contact Nyles Jackson at nyles.harborparkjazz@gmail.com. For event sponsorship information, contact Tim Mahone at chairman@mahonefund.org. Thank you in advance for your consideration!

HarborPark Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Festival

Hosted each year at Celebration Place in Kenosha, WI, the HarborPark Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Festival provides a wonderfully diverse mixture of music and attracts visitors from Milwaukee, Chicagoland and beyond to the scenic Celebration Place of Kenosha. In previous years, the festival has welcomed various national and regional jazz artists including Ramsey Lewis, Nick Colionne, Len Rainey and the Midnight Players, Spyro Gyra, Nelson Rangell, Euge Groove, Eric Marienthal, and David Benoit.

In addition to listening to quality music throughout the day, patrons are able to purchase raffle tickets for the 50/50 raffle, play in our wine pull, and enjoy a seat in the popular “Cooking Studio,” which kicks-off the festival fun each year. The Cooking Studio provides gourmet foodies and aspiring cooks a gorgeous lakefront atmosphere to learn the tricks of the trade during an interactive cooking demonstration.

The HarborPark Jazz, Rhythm & Blues Festival is a fundraiser produced by the volunteer efforts of the Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund and all proceeds support the CEO mentoring program, where our overarching goal continues to focus on academic achievement, college readiness career success, and service to others while reducing the financial barriers impacting access and affordability for our first-generation students.

Jonathan Butler

Born in South Africa under the shadow of apartheid and raised in poverty, Butler was the first non-white artist to be played on South African radio and appear on national television. Though his musical abilities would take him away from the world he grew up in, Jonathan would neither forget the plight of his fellow South Africans, nor the man that led them to freedom. It is for this reason Nelson Mandela credits Butler’s music as having inspired him during his imprisonment. In more ways than one, Jonathan Butler is representative of South Africa.
