The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund is Excited to Announce that the 2024 CEO Scholarship Application is NOW AVAILABLE!

This prestigious scholarship initiative is designed to support and empower aspiring young leaders who are passionate about making a positive impact in their community. With a focus on academic excellence, community involvement, and leadership potential, Mahone Fund CEO Scholarships are a unique opportunity for students to receive the support they need to achieve their educational and career goals. The application process is open to all Kenosha Unified School District High School, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life and St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School seniors pursuing their education at a two-year or four-year institution. Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, leadership experience, and personal essays. We strongly encourage applications from our community’s minority students.

2024 Mahone Fund CEO Scholarship Opportunities

Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund CEO Scholarship – Up to 10 Available

Each Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone CEO Youth Scholar will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship yearly for up to 5 years, totaling $5000, that can be applied towards tuition, room and board, books, and other fees related to education. The $1000 scholarship is renewable for up to a total of (5) consecutive school years, provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications. The funds will be disbursed to the student and the institution at which the scholar is enrolled, in two equal payments, one each semester. Each semester the scholarship recipient must provide documentation of full-time enrollment in any discipline. If the student attends only one semester, the unused funds will revert back to the Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund.

FOR ELIGIBILITY, STUDENTS MUST: 

Attend one of the following high schools: Kenosha Unified School District High School, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life or St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School

Demonstrate financial need in the immediate family or eligibility for free and reduced meal benefit

Have earned a 2.5 GPA on an unweighted scale

Demonstrate leadership through participation in school and community extra-curricular activities, and provide and document a minimum of 20 community service hours each year for scholarship renewal

Provide evidence of acceptance into an accredited college, university, or technical institution at the time of the award. Awards will not be granted to applicants without this notification

Mahone Fund Herzing University Scholarship – 1 Available

Herzing University has partnered with the Mahone Fund to provide one full-tuition scholarships granted to incoming 2024 freshmen from Kenosha Unified School District High Schools, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life or St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School who are interested in pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree through the Herzing University system.

FOR ELIGIBILITY, STUDENTS MUST: 

Meet all the eligibility requirements for the Mahone CEO Youth Scholarship 

Have applied for admission to Herzing University; provide evidence of acceptance at the time of award

Meet program entrance level requirements for Herzing University and complete FAFSA application

Mahone Fund Carthage College Financial Aid Initiative

Carthage College has partnered with the Mahone Fund to provide two (2) financial aid options to incoming 2024 freshmen from Kenosha Unified School District High Schools, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life or St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School.

Mahone Fund Carthage College Access Education Award – 15 Available

For students who meet this criteria, Carthage pledges to meet their remaining need up to full tuition through a combination of federal, state and institutional financial aid.

FOR ELIGIBILITY, STUDENTS MUST: 

Meet all the eligibility requirements for the Mahone CEO Youth Scholarship

Must be eligible to receive a Federal Pell grant

Have applied for admission to Carthage College; provide evidence of acceptance at the time of Award 

Have earned a 2.8 unweighted GPA

Mahone Fund Carthage College Full Tuition Scholarship – 1 Available

FOR ELIGIBILITY, STUDENTS MUST: 

Meet all the eligibility requirements for the Mahone CEO Youth Scholarship 

Have applied for admission to Carthage College; provide evidence of acceptance at the time of award

Demonstrate financial need with a required FAFSA application on file

Have earned a 3.2 GPA or higher

Must be a student of color

    Please attach a one page essay (Times New Roman, 12 point font, double spaced). It should be a minimum of 250 but no more than 350 words on the following: What motivates you? What are your life goals, and how will a college degree help you achieve those goals?

    Along with your essay, please upload a current copy of your official high school transcript and a recent photo. A photo is required. If you are selected, it will be used for all publications.
