The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund, a component of the Kenosha Community Foundation, is offering a scholarship opportunity to all eligible Kenosha Unified School District High Schools, Shoreland Lutheran, Christian Life and St. Joseph Catholic Academy High School seniors pursuing their education at a two-year or four-year institution. The goal of the Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Youth Scholars Award is to embrace the pursuit of academic excellence and leadership potential by increasing access to educational opportunities for those students who represent the cultural diversity and economic need of the Greater Kenosha Community. We strongly encourage applications from our community’s minority students.
Each Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone CEO Youth Scholar will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship yearly for up to 5 years, totaling $5000, that can be applied towards tuition, room and board, books, and other fees related to education. The $1000 scholarship is renewable for up to a total of (5) consecutive school years, provided the recipient continues to meet the qualifications. The funds will be disbursed to the student and the institution at which the scholar is enrolled, in two equal payments, one each semester. Each semester the scholarship recipient must provide documentation of full-time enrollment in any discipline. If the student attends only one semester, the unused funds will revert back to the Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund.
