Jazz and Blues Fest 2008 |
On Saturday, August 23, 2008, the Mary Lou Mahone Fund is sponsoring the HarborPark Jazz & Blues Festival at Celebration Place. The gates will open at 2:30 pm with the opening act starting at 3:30 pm. This year’s headliner is the Legendary Spyro Gyra
The entity known as Spyro Gyra is a marathon runner in the arena of contemporary jazz. For more than three decades, moving across a musical landscape marked by increasingly challenging terrain and accelerated change, they have maintained the well-deserved reputation as a viable and highly versatile creative force. Since their earliest recordings in the mid 1970s, they have maintained a fresh approach to their craft by borrowing from a range of sources and distilling them into an unmistakable signature sound. This melodic, high energy smooth jazz event brings the contemporary music lover from Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois to Kenosha’s scenic lakefront. Last year nearly 1000 music goers descended on HarborPark’s Celebration Place to listen and dance to some great music. Bring your picnic basket with some wine and cheese and enjoy the lakefront while listening to some sizzling jazz and soulful blues entertainment. If a picnic basket and the beautiful lawn seats are not for you, then check out the picnic seating area where you can sit down, enjoy your food and relax. This is an event where you want to bring a friend or a group of friends, reward your employees, invite your important customers or vendors out for a day of GREAT MUSIC, GREAT FOOD & GREAT FUN. |
